1. MANURE:- Sheep are excellent clevers making use of the waste lands and it weeds and convert them in to valuable animal protein and also help to maintain soil fertility. A Sheep provides 0.5 to 0.7 ton of manure to the soil every year which contents twice the quantity of nitrogen and potassium present in cattle manure. As per 2003 Census total no of sheep in A.P alone are 213.76 lakhs and goats are 62.77 lakhs. In the entire country we have about ten crores of sheep and goats.
2. MUTTON:- Sheep provide two different crops the wool and the lamb in a year. These crops Usually come at different seasons in a year, which thus make a good distribution of income to the shepherd. As per Food and Agricultural organization Census a few years back our country got a foreign Currency worth Rs.2300crores by selling lamb mutton to foreign countries in a year. The quantity of mutton depends as feeding the sheep incase the Sheep was fed and nutritious and fattening ration the mutton would be tender and juicy. heep Industry Contribute Sheep rearing and wool blankets weaving in other countries it is an industry and considered as farm production equalent to agriculture production. Whereas in this country it is only considered as range production. Sheep are especially adapted to grazing on rough and hilly lands.
